How Oppy Local Works
A Guide to Oppy Local
Shop and sell local art, handmade, upcycled, and second-hand on Oppy.
Pay on Oppy. Arrange a meetup time and place. Meet in person. Payment is held until the exchange is complete.
Selling with Oppy Local
01
Offer Oppy Local when you list — on its own, or with postage so the buyer can choose at checkout.
02
Suggest a place and times that suit you for local pickup. Just a guide for the buyer, nothing set in stone yet.
03
Once your item sells, propose or respond to a meetup in messages and lock a time.
04
Meet in person with the item ready for the buyer to inspect. Enter the buyer’s exchange code when they’re happy to take it.
05
Funds are released and your payment is on its way!

Keep it routine
It’s a simple idea: make local exchange feel like a natural part of everyday life.
- We lean toward third places — cafés, libraries, markets, climbing gyms, and other spots you already go.
- Fitting a meetup into your usual routine keeps handover light: less special-trip energy, more everyday flow.
Have fun, Stay safe
- We may suggest places on the listing, but the final meetup location is agreed after the sale — in messages, between the two of you.
- Suggested Oppy Exchange Points and free-text tips are ideas to get you started, not locked venues and not partnerships (unless specifically stated).
- Prefer a public third place when you can.
- Inspect the item in person before you accept it. Once the exchange code is confirmed, handover is final — there are no post-exchange disputes.
